Gas Prices-I

Many people complain about the high cost of gasoline but do not realize the full impact that high oil prices have on the economy.  Many companies rely on parts to be shipped to them and most stores have goods shipped to them. Increases in gas prices increases the cost of shipping and raises the cost of goods at the store. In addition, many people commute to work and increased gas costs increases the cost of getting to work. In addition, many homes and businesses heat with oil and the higher cost oil also increases the cost of heating. Yet few people getting raises to cover the higher cost and many people are seeing cuts in hours as businesses try to cut costs. In 1974, I worked for the welfare department (now Job & Family Services). Gas jumped from $.50 a gallon to $1.00 a gallon overnight when the Arab States raised the cost of oil. A 100% increase in cost. We were dependent on them for oil at the time and many companies went out of business and a lot of people were thrown out of work. My caseload increased from 150 cases to 250 cases within a year and I had to take time off my caseload one day a week to do intake on new clients. Though the increase is not as fast today, it is still hurting an economy already hurting due to the poor economic policies of the current administration.

Gas Prices-H

When President Biden took office, he cut of construction of the pipeline from Canada  and cut back American oil production. He said it was to protect the environment but it merely transferred the problem to the countries that produce the oil and increases the risk of  pollution because the oil has to be transported overseas by tankers and runs the risk of oil spills. Pipelines are safer because the pipeline is underground and isn’t subject to storms and collisions. The only justification for shifting to overseas oil is that it sends the profits to the Arab States instead of keeping them here in the United States and Canada. In addition, the Canadians turned to China to sell the oil that the United States would not be buying, since the Canadians already have a pipeline to the West Coast, which benefits China. In addition, it hurts us because it costs American jobs and the Arab States use the profits to support terrorism. However, the biggest problem is the threat that is not obvious. When we became dependent on Arab oil, it allows them to raise their prices since they don’t have to compete with American produced oil. The Arabs are now doing that further threatening America’s unstable economy. Since we have discontinued the pipeline construction and cut our own production, we can’t just increase production to force the price down. It will take time to reopen the wells and complete the pipeline.

Easter Sunday-April 9

Easter Sunday– Color is White symbolizing the purity of Christ and the new believer, washed in the blood of Christ. Easter was an important time for baptism in the early church because it celebrates the death and resurrection of Christ and reenacts the new believer’s death and resurrection in Christ. It is a new beginning, washed in the blood of Christ, but it is not the end. That new life does not come full blown and complete. We must begin to grow into what Christ wants for us, just as a child grows to maturity.

Violence-Gun Control-4-S

Liberals are again calling for gun control but they ignore their own guilt. They continue to push the narrative that we need to kill babies that get in our way. Although they claim they are just blobs  of tissue and not really babies, ultrasounds show that it really is a baby and we can now detect a heartbeat and even brain waves within a few weeks of conception, so we have plenty of evidence that it is a baby from very shortly after birth. Now they are pushing for freedom to kill them even after birth. Once you proclaim the right to kill someone that gets in your way, it is only a matter of defining who is getting in your way. Some say it is those who are elderly, critically sick or injured, or mentally ill, while others say it is those who feel life is no longer worth living. Liberals have spent fifty years teaching that life only has value when it benefits you and when it doesn’t, it is alright to eliminate it. If you say something long enough and often enough, people begin to believe it. In addition, many people feel that if something is legal, it must be alright. During the last fifty years, abortion was technically legal. It wasn’t really legal but the courts felt they could not protect the baby because it could not be proven to be a person. That allowed abortion to flourish. As  it flourished, a growing number of people have begun viewing it as acceptable. In addition, liberal politicians turn a blind eye to violence against conservatives and those who oppose violence, reenforcing the idea that violence is acceptable if someone gets in your way. You can outlaw abortion, but you will not stop it or the increasing violence until you convince people that killing is wrong. That is not going to occur overnight. We have the laws we need to stop abortion and violence, but the laws need to be enforced or they do no good. In addition, we need to stand up and be vocal in defense of those who cannot defend themselves.

Sanctity of Life-A-4-AC

While abortion supporters focused on the fact that we didn’t know if an unborn baby was a person yet, it was  just a smoke screen for their true intentions. They would turn a full term baby around and deliver only the head, kill it, and then deliver it the rest of it so they could justify it because the baby was killed before it was born. They are now going further and leaving babies born alive to die and are seeking to legalize killing babies after birth. In Canada and Europe, they have gone farther to include the critically sick and injured, the aged, and even those who are healthy and those who feel life is no longer worth living. They can no longer justify it by claiming that we don’t know if it is a person yet because once it is born, it is definitely a person and is protected by the Constitution. In essence, they are seeking to get rid of those who are a burden on them, which has been their intention all along. We are seeing the same thing in politics and other parts of society. If someone gets in your way, you eliminate them. Liberal politicians seek to eliminate those who they feel get in their way of ambition and power. While they may not physically kill them, they seek to destroy them politically or socially. God is love while the devil seeks only to kill and destroy. You will know all men by which one they support.

Now that Roe vs Wade has been overturned and children can now be protected by law, those who support abortion are showing their true colors. In the 1970’s, they cried about the poor girls trapped with an unwanted baby. Since America was predominantly pro-life, they knew they could not get a vote of the people or of the legislature, so they got the Supreme Court to declare that unborn  babies weren’t yet people and so not protected by law, just as it had done with Black people when it said slaves weren’t people and not protected by law. That made laws against abortion unenforceable. They knew that many people felt killing was wrong because it was illegal but could be swayed to accept it if abortion became legal. The ruling didn’t actually make it legal, but it allowed them to begin performing abortions openly, without fear of punishment. Once they were performed openly, it gave the appearance that it was legal. While they focused on unborn babies, their narrative has always been that this baby is a burden and a hindrance to these girls and the way to solve the girl’s problem is to get rid of the baby. They have continued to press the narrative that the baby is a burden and the way to solve the problem is to get rid of the baby. They can not push their agenda of eliminating unwanted people as long as people value life so they have sought to destroy the understanding of life as worth protecting and replace it with the idea that life is expendable when it becomes a burden.

President Biden continues to take the law into his own hands and use his office to override the will of Congress and the American people. He has used the FBI and the Dept of Justice to harass and threaten former President Trump, conservatives involved in opposing abortions, and parents involved in protecting their children. He has used his office to force federal employees to get Covid shots and to violate State laws by performing abortions and distributing abortion inducing drugs in States that outlaw abortions. He has now pushed through regulations to make millions of gun owners who legally own guns and use them responsibly into criminals if they don’t register their guns and/ or get rid of them. Such regulations will not make our streets any safer, all they will do is tell the government where the guns are so they can seize them if they choose. They claim to be making the streets safer but their regulations have done the opposite. In major cities who have the strictest gun laws, they also have the highest rate of gun deaths because the criminals have guns and do not have to be afraid that those they attack will be armed because the government took the guns away from the general public. All we have to do is compare the results of Presidents like Calvin Coolidge and Franklin Roosevelt to see the results that come from a presidency that allows Americans to shape their own future on the one hand and those that try to solve the problems through government control on the other. A friend of mine  who is an evangelist in Russia stated that the people there are like those in Ninevah for they do not know their right hand from their left hand. That is true in America today. The media today deliberately lies to us telling us things were going well under President Obama and now under President Biden when they are really collapsing but they said things were in very bad shape under President Trump, when the country rose to the best economic condition in forty years, before Covid closed things down. President Trump was successful because he was a businessman who understood business, not a politician merely interested in getting reelected.  How can you really believe them because they also tell young people they can’t tell whether they are a boy or girl by looking at their privates, they should go by their feelings which often change daily. In Russia, the news service is called Provda, which means truth. The difference between Russia and the United States is that the Russian people know that the government is lying to them. In the United States, many people refuse to believe that the news services are lying to them. Up until 20 years or so, the news services were fairly unbiased. They were becoming slanted but still maintained some balance. It was more a matter of omission of facts than outright lies. Since then they have lost all attempts to be balanced and many articles are just political hit pieces rather than news stories. Many voters only vote for politicians based on what they will get from the government with no thought to what it will cost them in taxes and freedom. The Bible says that in the last days, the devil will seek whom he can devour, seeking to deceive even the elect, and we are seeing that today as many church people follow after corrupt politicians. Many today follow after false gods, and God has turned His face away from this land, just as He did Israel when it followed after false gods. God has promised that if we turn from our sin and seek Him, He will heal the land. However, if we do not, He will allow this land to suffer as He did Israel when they refused to return to Him.

Jesus came to show us a better way.  The best leader is someone who knows the love of God and is guided by the Holy Spirit to do what is best for everyone. No one is capable of ruling over others, regardless of what liberals tell you. That is why the framers of the Constitution designed it so that the people are the ultimate rulers in America and the politicians serve at the people’s will, and under their direction. However, they observed, and rightly so, that it would only work if the people at large knew God and served Him. We are seeing what happens when the nation turns away from God. The people select leaders to rule that will benefit them personally. This leads greedy politicians to give away money to buy votes, which we are seeing now. The recent vote showed that many voters are seeking politicians that will benefit them personally, not ones that will rule wisely for the benefit of all. Many voters in the last election indicated they believed the promises of free money and voted for candidates promising to give it to them, with no thought that they are going to have to pay the money back in taxes, with interest.  To get back to where we need to be, God’s people need to turn back to God and seek His will. God’s people then need to select politicians that will seek what is best for everyone, not just themselves. They must be politicians who themselves seek God’s will and respond to the will of the people.  They must enact laws that control those who don’t know God to keep them from hurting others and that allow those who are guided by God to serve God freely. They must be politicians who will apply the law fairly, not just in a way that benefits them. Then God’s people will be free to win souls to serving God through their example and through preaching the Word of God. Preaching alone won’t do it for there will be unbelievers who don’t know God and must be restrained by the law until Christ returns and removes those who don’t serve Him. Politicians can never clean up this country because they can only limit people’s ability to sin, they cannot change hearts. However, they can create a country where the church is free to win souls and help God change lives, or they can create a country where the church is prevented from winning souls openly.
