Violence-2-AL

27 Jan

People say that the ICE agents should not be there and they should leave. It is true but the reason they are there is because the Mayor and the Governor are telling State and local police to ignore the law. The law says that when an illegal immigrant violates the law, they should contact ICE and they will deport him. No problem. However, since they are not contacting the ICE agents to pick them up in jail and are releasing them onto the streets, the ICE agents have to come get them. The agents are there picking them up on the street because they were released from jail. All they need to do to get the ICE agents to leave is follow the law and the ICE agents will be gone overnight. If it is that simple, why aren’t they doing it. All those illegal immigrants are voting for them because they allow the immigrants to live there, and give the immigrants free food, housing, education, and health care, even though they cannot vote legally.  State and city officials allow illegal immigrants to register and vote in exchange for the free support. That is how they stay in power. In addition, all those daycares that don’t really exist but collect millions in tax money are doing so because the State and city governments allow them to. It is a pretty safe bet that a lot of that money is flowing back into the pockets of the mayor and governor and a lot of their friends in exchange for the State and city officials looking the other way. When State and city officials urge their citizens to attack the ICE agents and call on their citizens to prevent federal agents from enforcing the law, and then tell police not to interfere, they are putting the safety of their own citizens in jeopardy, as well as the lives of the ICE agents who are just doing their job.

Third Sunday of Epiphany-Jan 25

22 Jan

Luke 10:29-37 Get To Know Your Neighbors-One of the greatest problems to spreading the Gospel in America is the lack of contact between Christians and non-Christians. Even in settled neighborhoods where people own their homes, there is often little contact beyond polite waves over the fence and unfortunately, Christians are caught up in it as well. The best way to start is have members visit their neighbors to get to know them. Visiting one a week is not taxing but in five weeks will enable them to get to know the five families around them. We need to make deliberate efforts to spend time with our neighbors and get to know them. Visit them and take them cookies or a cake or invite them over for a backyard Bar B Q to allow time to get to know them. Do they go to church, if so where? Do they have family nearby to help in times of need? Are there needs the church family can help with? We will not know unless we get to know them. Others may have needs and not know who to turn to. Establishing contact enables you to help them find solutions to their needs. Many may not have needs when you visit, but as you maintain contact with the neighbors through periodic visits, the neighbors may experience situations they cannot handle and may turn to you for help. Since many families are isolated today and have no family nearby, a sickness, loss of job, or even death may require more resources than they can muster and provide an opportunity for the church to show Christ’s love. As Christ points out, our neighbors include more than just those who live around us.  They are people we interact with every day at school, at work, and as we shop. We often see them but rarely take the time to get to know them.

Second Sunday of Epiphany-Jan 18

Modeling Christ  When we read the Gospels, we often see the teachings and miss what Jesus does. If we read them closely, we will notice that He met needs as He went along. He healed the blind man, the crippled man, and the leper. He also fed the people. He did it primarily because He cared about them, but He also did it because He knew those needs distracted those people from hearing what He had to say. Until He broke down the barrier, they could not concentrate on what He was saying. By meeting the need, He not only broke down the barrier, He also built a bridge to that person. Those people passed many people as they traveled but those people were only nameless faces, soon forgotten. Jesus was someone they would not soon forget. He wasn’t a nameless face, He was the one that healed them or fed them. He was the one who cared when no one else did. We have become accustomed to the government providing all those services, but we forget that Christians met those needs first and only later did the government become involved. Now we have all but given up our ministry to the government and people worship the government instead of God. The prevailing feeling among many Christians today, as well as non-Christians is “The government is my shepherd, I shall not want, It maketh me lie down in a nice house, and It provideth me with good food.”  Christ modeled the way we should live. Unfortunately, all we like sheep have gone astray.

The violence in Minneapolis reminds me of  the George Floyd incident six years ago in Minneapolis. The media used that incident to whip up hatred towards the police. They pretend that their violent protests will result in pressure on the police to use more restraint. In fact, it results in the police backing off of such situations for fear of being prosecuted for doing their job. However, it will probably cause more police brutality, not less, as police will feel more threatened and will be more likely to use force. Black organizations claim Blacks are being targeted by police. Since the media tries to take advantage of such incidents when they happen, it is evident that it is a rare occurrence or we would be hearing of far more such incidents. Far more Whites die at the hands of both White and Black police officers. While there are rogue police officers and they should be punished, the vast majority are just trying to do their job and are often confronted with violent people who cannot be stopped any other way. Many are on drugs and are out of control. In addition, we do not know what preceded the killing of the man in Minneapolis. The man could have been a violent criminal that had just killed someone and was threatening to kill the police. We can’t judge an incident from a short clip by someone who may have edited the film in order to incite a riot. The officers should be tried by the courts based on the evidence and if they are guilty, they should be punished, but they should not be tried by public opinion based on what the media presents, because we know how biased they are. In the 1960’s,  Martin Luther King showed that Blacks and Whites working together can reduce prejudice, hatred, and violence while the riots showed that violence increases the hatred and violence on both sides.

We are seeing increased violence over the death of a woman in Minnesota. It makes no sense. While the people in Minneapolis should protest peacefully if there is a pattern of injustice, a lot of hatred is being whipped up by out of State promoters who don’t care one bit about her. It is evident that a lot of the protests around the country are being fueled by those seeking to take advantage of the situation for their own political purpose since the protests are well organized and well funded. They are inciting riots and creating hatred against President Trump, who is the lawfully elected President in order to undermine the rule of law. As I look back over my posts, I see a number of incidents in Minnesota, particularly Minneapolis which indicates a pattern of civil unrest, particularly of defending those who are breaking the law against law enforcement. ICE agents are responsible for removing illegal immigrants from the country and They are there because the city and State officials are obstructing justice by refusing to turn illegal immigrants over to federal officials when they are arrested for crimes.  City and State governments are openly violating federal law by harboring criminals from out of the country and have used the media to incite violence against federal agents by portraying them as being there illegally. That indicates that they view the law is a tool to achieve goals and not to obtain justice. They are abusing the trust of the American people for political purposes to discredit Republicans so they can win elections. Liberal politicians did it in President Trump’s first term to cover up the crimes of Hillary Clinton and President Obama and are doing it now to cover up their crimes in Minnesota. They don’t like it because President Trump is trying to restore the law to punishing criminals instead of as a tool to win elections.

First Sunday of Epiphany-Jan 11

10 Jan

Reveal the Reason- When my wife and I were young, we would go out before Christmas to see the light displays. They depicted all kinds of things from Manger scenes to Santa Claus scenes and many others. Today, there are far fewer displays, and most are just lights. They are nice to look at but not nearly as interesting. Epiphany reminds us that God cares for those who don’t know Him as well as those that do. Christmas is an excellent time to put up a display of the manger scene. Liberals have gotten them banned from a lot of public places, so it is up to churches and individual Christians to remind people why we celebrate Christmas. Children are curious. They may ask you, why do you have a display of people in the front yard? It gives you the opportunity to tell the Christmas story of how God sent Jesus to help us. Start planning now to be a witness for Christ next Christmas. Buy a commercial one or build your own. Christmas cards also give an opportunity to remind people why we celebrate. Now is a good time to get them because stores are getting rid of their Christmas stock at sale prices

The media leads us to believe that police officers are deliberately targeting Blacks and as a result, there is increasingly violent retaliation against police. While many people claim that a higher percentage of Blacks are killed by police and a higher percentage of Black people are stopped compared to Whites, we need to examine the facts behind those statements. The fact is that a higher percentage of Blacks commit crimes. Currently, 52% of murders are committed by Blacks, even though they constitute only 13% of the population. Therefore, police are more likely to be looking for Black suspects and a police officer may stop someone who is Black because he fits the description of who they are looking for or because they are acting suspiciously. Police are also more likely to assume the Black suspect has a gun and intends to use it because of the higher percentage of violent crimes by Blacks. A Black friend of mine sent me the following statistics. He states that contrary to what we hear, the number of Blacks killed by police has dropped 70% in the last 50 years. In 2012, only 173 Blacks were killed by police while 326 Whites were killed by police. Apparently, police are showing greater restraint in Black areas but cannot ignore what appears to be an open threat. While liberals claim police are responsible for the higher percentage of Blacks arrested, they ignore the fact that more Blacks commit crimes because of liberal policies which promoted slavery which destroyed families by separating them and showing men that it is the overseers job to care for the women and children. They later prevented Blacks from getting an education and good jobs, resulting in a greater need for welfare which further destroyed families by requiring men to leave the family so they could get help. While some Blacks are breaking the mold and getting a good education and a good job, it will take hard work and several generations to rebuild the family structure among Blacks and undo the damage caused by liberal policies.

We are seeing more of the same old narrative to create fear and division. While they scream about mass killings, they claim they need to take away your guns to make you safe. It will only disarm you so you can’t protect yourself against criminals who are still armed because they don’t obey laws about not owning guns. They scream about police brutality and claim they need to defund the police to protect you from police brutality, however it means there won’t be any police to protect you from those criminals. They claim they have to stop arresting criminals because it unfairly affects Blacks but it means those criminals will be back out on the streets committing more crimes. They prosecute those who report crimes saying we need to protect people’s privacy  while they do nothing to prosecute those criminals allowing them to continue their crimes. It also makes people reluctant to report crimes out of fear of being prosecuted. It seems like there is a pattern here. Their goal seems to be to encourage crime and violence.

We are seeing the same pattern in the media with the shooting in Minnesota that we have seen in similar instances. They rush to condemn the ICE agent for killing the woman and ignore the facts. ICE was there to arrest people in the country illegally because the State was violating the law by not reporting them to federal agents. Then protestors showed up to protest the arrests and prevent law enforcement officers from enforcing the law. We already see a systematic attempt to obstruct justice and hamper law enforcement. In addition, this isn’t a random demonstrator who the agents were harassing. While the narrative paints her as an innocent protester, videos show that she was harassing the agents and when confronted, deliberately aimed her car at the agent and attempted to run him over. It looks like the agent was acting to protect himself and other agents. Although she hit him, he was able to escape without serious injury. This was followed by rioting in other cities to protest the killing and calling for ICE agents to be pulled out of the city. This follows the George Floyd incident six years earlier in the same city which followed the same pattern. Police seeking to arrest a man caught committing a crime was killed while resisting arrest. It is followed by riots around the country calling for defunding the police. The goal isn’t justice, it is to hinder law enforcement and encourage anarchy. However, the narrative also hides another important fact which is that it distracts from the discovery of the millions of dollars of funds to help the needy that were stolen.
