Making America Great Again-A-A

President Trump’s slogan of making America great again appeals to a lot of older people who remember America’s golden age in the 1960s and 1970s when the economy was booming, jobs were plentiful, and our streets were safe. While the threat of nuclear war cast a shadow on the prosperity, times were generally good. Russia knew they could not conquer us with their military because America had a great military. They also knew they couldn’t seize control of the government because Americans would resist and Americans were well armed due to the Second Amendment allowing citizens to own guns. However they had one thing America did not have, and that was patience. They knew that if you chip away at a foundation long enough, eventually the house will fall. It might take  three or four generations, but they were willing to wait.  Like Satan in the  Garden of Eden, socialism appeals to man’s greed. Europe fell fairly quickly because Christianity there was mostly an empty shell. Europeans had long ago given up belief in God even though they retained the outward appearance. America still retained a strong church that taught Christian values and those values were widely accepted beyond the church. The Socialists knew that strong Christians would not support their humanist values. Respect for life, the rule of law, and the value of the individual and personal property are deadly to those who seek to take over the world. Total control requires elimination of your opponents, twisting the law to your advantage, and seizing personal property. In addition, it requires submission of the individual to their control. Dictators require total obedience and those who put obedience to God first will not obey those who want to be the first and the only authority, when that authority requires them to disobey God. They knew that to overthrow America they would have to break down its allegiance to God, which was the foundation of our success.

 

 
 

Fifth Sunday of Epiphany-Feb 9

Volunteer at food Banks/Community meal sites. As the cost of food and other expenses rise and incomes fall, money becomes tight and families must choose between paying the rent and purchasing food. Many are turning to food banks for help. Food banks are facing rising demand and need donations of paper products not covered by food stamps and food, as well as money to meet operating costs. In addition, they need volunteers to help collect food, sort the food, stock shelves, and assist clients. Many churches are also starting congregate meals for the homeless and for elderly and single residents that do not otherwise get adequate nutrition. Donations of food are needed as well as volunteers to assist with cooking, setting up facilities, serving clients, and cleaning up afterward. Many such meals are run completely by volunteers with donated food.

The various government departments were established to provide a means to carry out the laws passed of Congress. The President is charged with overseeing them with the help of the Senate. Over time, Congress got lazy and began passing vague laws and allowed the departments to flesh out the policies and carry them out. As a result, the various departments have become a law unto themselves and have run rough over the American people, openly abusing their powers. Often departments and agencies have seized property and punished those who resisted with no oversight and leaving innocent citizens with no legal recourse. President Biden used the various agencies and department to get around laws and opposition through executive orders directing them to openly violate federal and State laws. He distributed billions of dollars to Planned Parenthood for abortions here and overseas and used agency power to force foreign nations to accept abortions, in spite of federal laws which prohibit federal funds going to support abortions here or overseas. He directed the veterans hospitals to perform abortions in States that prohibited it and directed the Post Office to facilitate the delivery of abortion drugs to States that had outlawed abortion. Such an abuse of power and violation of federal laws would have gotten any former President impeached but Democrats prevented an investigation. Many people think President Trump is being too heavy-handed but he only has four years to clean out a deeply entrenched bureaucracy.

Government agencies have no real incentive to cut costs. The government has free reign to tax and can demand more taxes when they want to spend more. A practice that President Biden has made full use of. The government has no competition to force them to cut costs and often pads its organization with useless administration positions. The department heads who have been appointed as rewards for supporting the party owe their allegiance to the party. Since their experience is mainly in politics, they have little experience in running things efficiently. It is time we turned  the government over to those who have know how to run organizations efficiently. President Trump is the first President in recent times that has a business background and was not a career politician. He entered his first term with a good understanding of business, but with very little understanding of politics and he was hampered by not having a majority in both houses which made it difficult for him to accomplish much. However, he learned a lot the first time and has been working hard since then so he has come to his second term well prepared for dealing with Congress and the Deep State. He has sought to fill key offices in the departments with people who are well experienced in running large corporations and know how to cut red tape and streamline organizations, rather than political appointees with very little experience.Businesses have to cut waste as much as possible to keep costs down so they do not price their products out of the market.

It seems that FEMA suddenly had lots of money because they rushed aid to California while the wildfires were still burning out of control. It is a serious abuse of power to use government funds to help California when they still had not sent aid to those in N. Carolina who was still struggling to recover after  the Hurricanes that hit it, just because California voted for Democrats while N. Carolina did not. Government help should not be given out on the basis of political affiliation since tax dollars come from taxpayers without regard to political affiliation. The President is supposed to look out for the welfare of the whole country, not just those who voted for him and he has no right to use taxpayer funds to reward his friends and ignore his political opponents. Numerous FEMA workers surveying the damage reported being told to bypass houses that had signs supporting Trump. It is high time for a thorough investigation of the way FEMA has been doing business to see  if this has been a long-standing practice or recent development and the people responsible should be held accountable.

Fourth Sunday of Epiphany-Feb 2

Volunteer for Social Service Agencies. With increased cuts in funding to government poverty programs, many of those in need are turning to non-profit agencies like the Salvation Army for help. Such agencies are being overwhelmed with those in need and lack the funds to meet the needs. Many are in need of donations to meet the increased need. Many also lack funds to hire adequate staff. Volunteers are needed to answer the phones, interview clients, do filing and assist with data entry. Many jobs are fairly simple and the agencies provide training. Hours are usually flexible within their office hours and agencies are glad for whatever time you can provide. Many companies hiring require experience in addition to training and volunteering helps a worker gain experience and often provides access to companies and agencies they deal with who may be hiring. In addition, the company or agency they volunteer for may have an opening and will often hire someone they already know over a stranger.

It is interesting to see the liberal media attack anyone who gets in the way of what they want. Liberals are crying how President Trump is violating the Constitution and trashing the 14th Amendment. At issue is birthright citizenship. President Trump is seeking to enforce the 14th Amendment as it is written. It states “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. Liberals have been granting citizenship to babies of illegal immigrants and babies of women who crossed the border so their babies could be citizens of the United States. However, those babies don’t qualify because neither parent is “subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.” Since neither parent has established any legal status the babies don’t qualify. It will not effect those who have at least one parent who is here legally, only those who have come illegally. Since a great many babies have been illegally granted citizenship, it is going to create a real mess. We cannot simply pick and choose what part of a law we want to enforce.  The Amendment places two qualifications on citizenship and one alone is not sufficient. Liberals claim that President Trump is depriving these kids of their rights which sounds terrible but since the law never granted them that right, he is not depriving them of anything. He is merely restoring the rule of law and enforcing it as it was written.

Democrats accuse the Republicans of refusing to negotiate on the debt limit, but they are refusing to do so as well. They have repeatedly pushed the budget to the deadline and then demanded Republicans give in and raise the debt limit. When Republicans refuse, they accuse Republicans of threatening the stability of the economy by refusing to raise the debt limit and allow Democrats to go on spending.  Now that Democrats no longer have the majority and the ability to raise the debt limit, they have decided to take a lesson from President Biden and simply designate the expenditures as outside the budget. By removing it from the budget, they can continue their wasteful spending without exceeding the spending limit. However, no matter how you look at it, the money comes out of the treasury and is paid for by working Americans. Politicians need to realize that the government doesn’t have an unlimited amount o f money. There comes a point where the American people cannot or will not support the out of control spending in Washington. The American people have to live within their income and the government should do so as well.

The drama with Guatemala shows the difference between a politician and a businessman. President Trump sent illegal immigrants back to Guatemala and Guatemala refused to accept them. President Trump then informed them that he would impose a stiff tariff on Guatemalan goods. The President of Guatemala then announced they would accept the immigrants. Guatemala is much more dependent on their sales to us then we are to them. High tariffs could destroy the Guatemalan economy. President Trump knows that money talks and he knows how to put pressure where it is needed. In spite of all the damage done by liberal politicians, America is still a powerful country. A couple more years under liberal control and our country would have had an economic collapse due to the out of control spending. Liberal politicians have worked for fifty years to destroy our economy and the moral fabric of our country to allow them to usher in a one-world government. It will be very hard to rebuild our economy due to the massive wasteful spending by President Biden, and we cannot expect to reverse it in four years, but it will be a start. President Trump can at least set the right course. It will depend on the American people to select Congressmen who will support him and follow through with putting his policies in place. Voters must carefully weigh the background and voting record of  everyone they elect from the local mayor to the President of the United States.

Third Sunday of Epiphany-January 26

After School Program-Volunteer at after-school program. With the increasing number of single parent families and families where both parents work, many children do not have access to someplace to stay after school until their parents get home from work and with the increased crowding as families double up to save on housing costs, many children don’t have anywhere quiet to study. They may not have an environment conducive to learning if there are pre-school children in the home or other barriers to studying. As a result, after school programs are springing up to meet the need but do not have the funds for the staff needed. Many depend on volunteers to help them keep the doors open to tutor the children and help them with their homework. In addition, since the Covid epidemic, many schools are increasingly issuing homework online. Many kids do not have the access to computers and study areas needed. In addition, they may not have parental support.  As a result, many kids are falling farther and farther behind. Many churches have the facilities and members who can volunteer to help work with the kids and can give the children individual attention they cannot get at school or at home and show them God cares  about them. Many kids need a place to study, adequate technology, and supportive supervision, which churches can supply. Schools can sometimes help by printing off lessons, as well as helping with equipment for students to work on online classes. In addition, some children may not be able to attend school because of illness or disability and need tutoring in their home. Often subjects are elementary level and can be done by middle and high school students. Some schools have paid tutoring positions open. Though some may require college level education in the subject, many may require only a high school education.
