President Trump’s slogan of making America great again appeals to a lot of older people who remember America’s golden age in the 1960s and 1970s when the economy was booming, jobs were plentiful, and our streets were safe. While the threat of nuclear war cast a shadow on the prosperity, times were generally good. Russia knew they could not conquer us with their military because America had a great military. They also knew they couldn’t seize control of the government because Americans would resist and Americans were well armed due to the Second Amendment allowing citizens to own guns. However they had one thing America did not have, and that was patience. They knew that if you chip away at a foundation long enough, eventually the house will fall. It might take three or four generations, but they were willing to wait. Like Satan in the Garden of Eden, socialism appeals to man’s greed. Europe fell fairly quickly because Christianity there was mostly an empty shell. Europeans had long ago given up belief in God even though they retained the outward appearance. America still retained a strong church that taught Christian values and those values were widely accepted beyond the church. The Socialists knew that strong Christians would not support their humanist values. Respect for life, the rule of law, and the value of the individual and personal property are deadly to those who seek to take over the world. Total control requires elimination of your opponents, twisting the law to your advantage, and seizing personal property. In addition, it requires submission of the individual to their control. Dictators require total obedience and those who put obedience to God first will not obey those who want to be the first and the only authority, when that authority requires them to disobey God. They knew that to overthrow America they would have to break down its allegiance to God, which was the foundation of our success.
