Our society is increasingly moving towards taking the easy solution rather than the wise one. It is easy to dispose of an unwanted baby but harder for the woman to overcome the physical and emotional problems that result. It also results in more people engaging in free sex which results in far more unwanted babies. It is easy to throw money at the poor and harder to deal with the causes of poverty. We have poured enough money into the war on poverty to provide a comfortable living for every man, woman, and child in America and yet, the number of poor and homeless has continue to grow. It is easy to take away guns in order to cut the number of people killed by guns, but the areas with the fewest guns in the hands of the average citizen have the highest rate of death from guns because the criminals still have guns and aren’t afraid to use them because they know their targets are not armed. It takes a lot of time and effort to solve problems, but it is well worth the effort when the problem is finally solved and not just swept under the rug.
