Violence-2-AH

19 Sep

Since the killing of Charlie Kirk, we have seen many liberals who express joy that he was killed or say he deserved to die. Many are being fired from their jobs. There are many who are saying that they should not be fired because they are merely exercising their free speech. What about Kirk, he was just exercising his right to freedom of speech and he was killed. Liberals tend to see themselves as deserving rights but deny those rights to those they don’t agree with. But the question goes beyond a question of free speech. Speech reveals one’s mindset. If I was an employer, I would not want someone working for me who expressed joy that those who don’t agree with them were killed. What happens when one of their fellow employees says something they don’t agree with. Are they going to bring a gun to work and kill them. What happens if the company does something they feel is wrong, will they bring a gun and shoot up the office. We have not heard of workplace violence in a long time but it is still happening, it just isn’t big news like it was.  We haven’t heard of school shootings much lately either but they still happen. They are no longer big news. The American public got tired of hearing about them and the media ratings dropped so they realized  they had to tone it down. However, the danger is still there and employers are still concerned about it.

From time to time people want to access old files without going back through all the postings. As a result, I placed a link at the bottom of each posting with a link to previous postings on that topic. Simply click on the link to access past postings on that topic. To access topics I have not dealt with recently, I posted a series of twelve postings under “Previous Posts”. Each lists several topics and has links to those topics. This posting has a link to those posts so you can view the whole list. Simply view the list, select a topic, and click on the link at the bottom of that post to access previous posts on that topic.

Third Sunday of Kingdomtide-Sept 21

17 Sep

organized teaching-In addition to a firm foundation, members need organized teaching. Often, the preaching and the adult Sunday Schools of many churches are very haphazard with no master plan. Sermons are often chosen week by week or from a series that hits the pastor’s fancy. Adult Sunday School classes are often chosen for each quarter at random. Without a basic foundation of knowledge and without organized instruction, bits and pieces of knowledge are tossed together in a heap. Many adult church members know many things about the faith but have no way to pull it together and do not understand how it applies to their life. The church needs to draw up a blueprint of what its members need to know and teach them in an organized manner. Using the Christian calendar gives structure to teaching and helps the church provide organized teaching. By going through the Christian calendar, it goes through all the major teachings of the church each year.  I have a series of courses on Udemy to teach Christian beliefs. It begins with a course on Basic Christian beliefs. Next is a course on the Celebrations and how they help members understand the faith. Next I have courses on The values laid down in the Ten Commandments., including the value of life, the value of the rule of law, and the value of the family. See promos and links under “study courses”

Planned Parenthood and liberals in Congress are continuing to push abortion drugs to States that do not allow abortions because the pro-life laws hurt their profits and have forced them to shut down a number of abortion centers. They continue to teach young children to engage in sex and reassure them that they can be protected by contraceptives but do not warn them that the contraceptives have a high failure rate and do not protect them against sexually transmitted diseases so they can produce unwanted babies. Then they convince them that an abortion will solve that problem. They get paid by the government to teach the sex ed classes, distribute the contraceptives, and do the abortions. Then they get paid selling the body parts of the aborted babies. They have a very profitable racket going. Now that their profits are being threatened, they are adding gender confusion to their sex ed classes and selling kids on the idea that all their problems stem from the fact that they were born in the wrong body, which is a figment of their imagination. They then reap the profits when the government pays them to administer the body altering drugs and the body altering surgeries even though there is no evidence that they are even helpful, and they do great harm to the children.

Sanctity of Life-GD-D

Many liberals are celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk, saying he got what he deserved. He never attacked anyone or belittled them, he merely asked them to defend what they believe. They hate him so much because they cannot defend their positions and they know it. The positions are selfish and self-serving and they cannot be defended because they go against what is best for everyone. I have written a series of values comparing Christian values with the values of the liberals to illustrate how irrational they are. They only make sense if you are only thinking of yourself and what is best for yourself. To them, it is alright to kill a baby, an elderly person, someone who is gravely ill or injured, or who is mentally disturbed because they see no value in those people and feel we are better off without them. They feel it is alright to eliminate those who stand in the way of their happiness and celebrate his death because he forces them to defend what they cannot defend and they don’t like being exposed as fools.

Second Sunday of Kingdomtide-Sept 14

A firm foundation- Catechism. When I began my ministry, it was common for churches to have a concentrated time of study for those coming of age, generally considered about age twelve, to give them a basic foundation of understanding of the church and its beliefs. Few churches today, particularly evangelical churches, have any organized classes for twelve year olds to teach them the basic tenets of the faith. Even children who have been in Sunday School their whole lives need a concentrated time to pull together everything they have been taught. As a result, many children today do not have even a basic foundation of knowledge and cannot build their faith as they grow older. There is also no concentrated study for those coming into the church who did not grow up in church. The result is that few adult church members today have even a basic understanding of the faith. I have developed a basic catechism course of study for new members for that purpose (Understanding the Path We Walk-see “books” on website and Basic Christian Beliefs on UdemyURL- https://www.udemy.com/course/basic-christian-beliefs/?referralCode=45EA0BA6DAD6F47E7541)

violence and social strife-3-H

13 Sep

It is interesting to hear the rhetoric of the media and liberal politicians in response to the response of President Trump to the killing of Charlie Kirk. They say he is inciting people to violence. Lets look at the facts. Liberals call on their followers to attack anyone who supports Trump and they should kill him. Those people have not done anything wrong, they just stand in the way of liberals getting what they want. That certainly leads people who have low self control and very few scruples against killing to attack and even kill Trump supporters. The liberal politicians and media  say their followers should riot in the streets to show their opposition to what Trump does. They feel that is all protected by freedom of speech and doesn’t lead people to violence. They say we should take away guns from innocent people so they can’t defend themselves against criminals who hide their guns so they won’t be taken away. They also say we should defund the police so they won’t be able to protect innocent citizens from those same criminals. They also say we shouldn’t punish criminals for minor crimes. We should allow them to go back out on the street where they can commit major crimes. On the other hand, we have Trump who calls on the police to seek out and arrest these people who go around attacking and killing other people, so they can be tried in court and if convicted, should be punished by putting them in jail, where they cannot commit more crimes. Liberals feel that is hate speech and should be banned because it leads people to violence.  The only ones incited to riot by calls for justice are liberals who hate police and the court system. However calling on liberals to attack conservatives does incite liberals to violence. Since it enrages those conservatives who do not like being attacked, it may also occasionally lead conservatives to attack liberals. They bring up examples where someone attacked an abortionist or an abortion clinic while ignoring almost daily attacks against pro-life pregnancy centers and Catholic churches that call for an end to abortion. It is hypocrisy to think that an isolated attack on a liberal is a threat to democracy while almost daily attacks on conservates do not pose a threat.

Violence-gun control 4-S

11 Sep

While the media often boldly calls for gun control after major shootings, they are strangely silent when the target is a conservative politician or political activist, a church, or a Christian school. When several Republican Congressmen were shot at a ball field, there was silence. When a gunman attacks a church or Christian school, there is silence. Apparently they feel it is alright to shoot their opponents. The recent shooting of the leader of Turning point USA did not bring out the media frenzy that you usually hear. Charlie Kirk started Turning Point to spread conservative information to public school and college students to help bring sanity to our schools but apparently liberals felt he was too great a threat to their agenda.

Growing in faith-Learning By Doing-A Children learn by doing and new Christians learn the same way. Unfortunately, few churches today have training programs where new Christians can work alongside more mature Christians. By involving new Christians in hands-on ministry in the congregation and in Christian ministries under the tutorage of more mature Christians, new Christians learn how to serve Christ and the Church. They learn how to minister as they watch others minister and get to minister to others themselves. As new Christians minister to others, they not only learn to identify those who have needs and how to minister to them, they also develop a love and concern for them. However, few churches today involve many of their members in ministry. They wait until an opening occurs and try to pressure someone to take the position, even though that person may have no prior experience and may not have the gifts for it or the concern for it. As a result, many Churches today are very ineffective in training new Christians in ministry or reaching people for Christ. Involving more members in ministry will allow the church to train more people for ministry and reach more people for Christ. It also enables the church to train them for when the present leadership can no longer serve.

First Sunday of Kingdomtide-Sept 7

05 Sep

Growing in faith by watching Kingdomtide is a time when the church should be active in helping new converts grow deeper.  While few new converts are coming into the church this is vitally important today when so few churches teach members how to live a life pleasing to Christ. Many members who transfer in from other churches where they were members for many years come with very little spiritual depth. As a result, I was asked to develop the lecture series.  Surrendering to Christ does not automatically bestow maturity in Christ. When we are born again, we are like babies in the faith and must grow to maturity. Children learn by observing adults and copying the way they do things. In the same way, new Christians need to observe more mature Christians in the faith and interacting with them. It is very hard to explain in a sermon or Sunday School class how to love others or to humble ourselves. It must be learned by watching others who are more spiritually mature, and interacting with them, as they live out their faith day by day, however few churches today have the close relationships needed to help new Christians grow in Christ. With very little spiritual training, new Christians have few mature Christians to learn from. There is also no close interaction of members with spiritual leaders to enable them to grow spiritually as they see them in action. There needs to be active mentoring of new members by those who are spiritually mature,  however  many church leaders today are chosen for their financial management skills and popularity rather than their Christian maturity and do not provide good spiritual role models to follow.
