President Biden is at it again. He just forgave the student debts of more young people, in spite of the fact that the Supreme Court ruled that he  did not have the authority to do so. He continues to work hard to drum up votes for his failing administration. Young voters are particularly vulnerable to bribery. Anyone would be a fool to vote against someone who just forgave you of a couple hundred thousand dollars in debt.. President Biden is not really forgiving the debt, he is merely transferring the debt to the American taxpayers. You and I are paying for encouraging young people to vote for President Biden. The administration has been consistently handing out “free” money and other benefits to various groups to get them to vote for him and then claim that Republicans are against them because they oppose such giveaways. In addition, Democrats have been very vocal in claiming that  Republicans are planning on canceling Social Security and welfare benefits to get those people to vote for him. Social programs once designed to help people in need are being used to influence the election and it is being paid for by all of us, even those who do not support him. While they had to pull back on welfare because it was becoming multigenerational as children growing up realized they didn’t have to work but could stay home and collect welfare, other programs continue to discourage working. The free flow of money during the Covid crisis has resulted in millions of people who refuse to work because it would interrupt their benefits. While student debts are becoming a serious problem, simply paying them off is not the solution. My  wife and I paid off our college debts as did millions of other students. My wife and I both had to interrupt our schooling mid-way and pay off the accumulated debt before going back and finishing, but we did it because we felt it was worth it to get better jobs. When I taught college, I found many students who were on welfare scholarships often put in very little effort while expecting  to get credit for the course. We often value things more if we have to work for them than if we just get them for free, but many kids today are growing up with the feeling that the world owes them a living.

Liberal politicians have been claiming that “shrinkflation” is the result of greedy corporations trying to cheat the consumer.  Shrinkflation is when a manufacturer reduces the amount of product without reducing the cost. Since the correct weight is listed, it is not illegal, but requires the consumer to check the weight when comparing prices. They claim we need to increase taxes for corporations to force them to pay their fair share. While that sounds logical, it ignores the facts.   Higher taxes and increased regulations imposed by liberal politicians have greatly increased the cost of manufacturing. In addition, inflation fueled by reckless spending by liberal politicians has also added to the cost of raw materials and labor. As a result, many corporations are facing massive increases in cost and have to make up the deficit somehow. They can only increase prices so much without driving away consumers. As a result, many have had to reduce the quantity to cut manufacturing costs. By increasing corporate taxes, politiciansare only adding to manufacturing costs and further forcing corporations to find ways to cut costs. However, liberal politicians refuse to accept responsibility for their actions and continue to use it to justify their reckless spending and increased taxes. We will not see any reduction in out of control inflation until they cut spending, reduce taxes, and unnecessary government regulations. Government officials who have no business experience have no business regulating businesses. Voters need to vote out the reckless politicians and vote in people who are experienced in business and can help businesses thrive. While some regulation is needed to prevent fraud and price gouging, the free market is very powerful in regulating businesses. Consumers vote with their dollars and businesses know they need to respond if they are going to stay in business. President Trump showed what a businessman can do in spite of all the hindrances he faced from liberal politicians who wanted to continue their reckless spending.

The administration attempted to stack the political arena in their favor during the 2020 Census. I served as a crew leader over those in our area that were taking the Census. After the Census, some of us were held over to oversee a check of random houses to ensure that workers had accurately checked the information and did not miss anyone. In 2021, when President Biden took office, he suspended those of us who were working and stated that we would have to reapply. We were notified that our criminal background checks were still in effect, but they would do an extra background check. No details were given but when businesses do a second background check, they check the applicant’s social media. Apparently they didn’t think I would be suitable because my application mysteriously disappeared and wasn’t found before they finished filling all the positions. Whether they checked to see if I was politically correct or checked my voting record to see if I was a registered Democrat makes no difference, both are violations of civil service law which requires hiring on merit, and forbids hiring based on political affiliation. One has to wonder if they deliberately “lost” my application because they could not legally reject it. I served as crew leader in 1990, 2000, and 2020 and had an excellent record. During that time, I was not only asked to train workers for other crew leaders but also to train other crew leaders who were having problems. Those of us working were already trained and many also had experience in Census work prior to the 2020 census. Since most of the available experienced workers were already working, the new hires were mostly inexperienced and had to be trained. The problem is not just the expense of training new workers but the problems encountered as new workers gain experience in the field. Their motive was apparently to get workers who were willing to agree to their terms. President Trump had instructed us to only count legal residents since it determined our representatives in the House and for the electoral college which are allotted according to population and illegal residents can’t vote.  The review suddenly found millions of people missed, most of them were not legal residents and cannot legally vote. Apparently those newly hired were instructed to seek out illegal residents that were previously not counted. The added count resulted in a shift of twenty two representatives, mostly from conservative States that don’t support illegal residents to liberal States that do support illegal residents. That gave liberals more seats in the House which resulted in a major shift in power. Money is also allocated to the States based on population so it would result in a higher portion of the money going to States harboring illegal immigrants, even though the illegal immigrants were not paying taxes and contributing to the money distributed. Liberals know that their policies are not popular with the majority of the American people and have tried to do all they can to retain their power. While liberal politicians claim that the Census never intended to exclude illegal residents, they were not included until around 1960 when they were added. Special interest groups pushed to get them included just as Southern States pushed to include slaves in the count even though slaves were not allowed to vote.  They wanted the extra political power without having to worry about being outvoted.

The liberal politicians are always talking about taxing the rich corporations more. They imply that the rich aren’t paying their fair share of the taxes. While that sounds reasonable, it ignores reality. A corporation takes money in and spends it on raw materials, wages, and returns to stock holders, in addition to taxes. If taxes increase, it must get the money from somewhere. The only source of funds that it has is the income from what it sells, so it must pay the increased taxes by raising the price of what it sells. As a result, the corporation doesn’t really pay the increased taxes, it passes the cost on to consumers. As a result, the increased taxes actually fall on consumers. The rich can afford to tighten their belt a little and  reduce the luxuries they purchase, however, the working class and poor cannot. Those increased costs must come from cutting back on necessities like food and utilities. If those increased costs are too much, they may threaten the person’s ability to obtain food, utilities, and shelter. We are seeing this in California where excessive taxes and government spending have resulted in run-a-way inflation, which has resulted in the largest homeless population of any State and a large number of residents are leaving California to find somewhere else to live where taxes and the cost of necessities is lower. If our federal government continues to follow California’s example, it will spread the burden over the entire country and there won’t be anywhere else in the United States to go.

Liberal politicians are again screaming about how they need to increase taxes to pay for all the spending they tell you is necessary. Unfortunately few people today understand economics and accept what they say. It is easy to think that raising taxes will help reduce the debt but it is not simply a matter of receiving money and passing it out. Raising or lowering taxes has a great effect on the economy. Liberal politicians are spending money to buy votes with liberal give-a-ways to various groups. They give money to Blacks to get their vote, to Senior Citizens to get their vote, to labor unions to get their votes and contributions, to Planned Parenthood to get their contributions. They are always giving money to someone to further their political ambitions. People like free things but fail to realize that nothing is free and someone has to pay for it. Many of the things they give away, the people could get far cheaper purchasing them on their own if they didn’t have to pay so much in taxes. Everything the government buys is at an inflated price. In addition, that money has to be handled through government channels and government workers are paid for handling it. In the end, only about one dollar out of every four dollars that goes to the government ends up being returned to the people. People could buy four times as much if they had only one fourth of the taxes. In addition, while they say the taxes are needed to cover the cost of operating the government, they always increase spending when they get more taxes, rather than use it to pay off the present bills. As a result, we are going more and more in debt with each tax increase. In addition, the increased tax burden depresses the economy because people have less to spend. As a result, businesses lose sales and have to lay off workers.  As a result,  businesses pay less taxes and fewer people are paying taxes so raising taxes actually results in less taxes being received. On the other hand, if expenses are cut, it would leave more money for people to spend and it would increase business sales. As a result, the businesses would be paying more taxes and it would enable them to hire more people who will be paying taxes. As a result, the taxes received would increase, so they would get more taxes by lowering the tax rate. However, it also requires them to tighten their belt and reduce the reckless spending. They have continued to drag Donald Trump through the courts looking for irregularities in how he spends his money yet President Trump did not accept a salary while he was President, he donated it all to charity. Neither President Obama or President Biden have done that. While they continue to hound Donald Trump about how he spends HIS money, it is only to distract the people from the real problem, which is how they are spending OUR money.

Democrats are making a big deal out of the fact that Republican States are turning down funds for summer school feeding programs to help poor kids during the summer when they can’t get school lunches and crowing about how Republicans don’t care about the poor kids who will go hungry. However, they are not saying why the Republican States are turning down the funds. President Biden added an executive order to the school lunch program which requires those who get the summer feeding program to recognize transgender students and allow them to use the bathroom of their choice. It is a matter of accepting the funds and being forced to endanger girls and women by allowing men disguised as women to use women’s restrooms, showers, and sleeping quarters or turning down the funds in order to protect them. Republicans care more about protecting women from embarrassment and even rape then the summer school program, while Democrats are more concerned about pushing their agenda regardless of the danger to women. They would rather have the kids go hungry then back down on promoting their pro-transgender policies. Many churches and civic organizations are stepping up to provide meals and food to low-income families in the States that refuse the funds at far less cost than the government funded programs and do not have to accept the government mandates that go with the funds.

It is clear where President Biden’s priorities are. He issued a ban on new oil drilling to satisfy the environmentalists causing gas prices to double. However, with his ratings falling because of inflation fueled by rising fuel prices and his out of control spending, he apparently had second thoughts about restricting our oil production. He apparently hoped to cut his party’s losses in the off-year elections, and bowed to public pressure to cut gas restrictions to allow a drop in gas prices. He agreed to open new gas drilling and gas prices started to fall slightly. However, due to pressure from environmentalists, who contribute to his party’s campaign funds, he has now restored the ban on new drilling and prices have begun rising again. Apparently he is more concerned about the source of his campaign funds than about the voters that elected him and who might not vote for his party in the upcoming election.

Gas Prices-J

21 Feb

I just checked gas prices to fill up the car and the price has been going up for three weeks straight. A lot of it is due to the fighting in the Mid-East. Most stations are about $3.29 a gallon compared to $1.75 a gallon when President Biden took office. President Trump pushed America to be independent of Arab oil prices which lowered gas prices since it didn’t have to be transported from the Mid-east and profits went to American workers and investors. Under President Trump, gas prices would not have been affected by the war, but now the fighting is pushing prices up still further. President Biden forced cuts in America’s oil production forcing us to buy oil from Mid-Eastern countries which has to be transported by ship, greatly increasing the cost. A lot of that oil goes through the Suez Canal and the shipping lanes near the Arab States. Arab terrorists have made travel in the region difficult and many are oil  tankers who are opting to go around the south of Africa to avoid it, which creates extensive delay and a lot of extra cost.  In addition, there is nothing to prevent the Arab countries from raising prices to hurt the American economy, like they did in 1974. The profit from Arab oil goes to Arab countries who supply our oil and much of it goes into the pockets of rich Arab rulers who in turn support Arab terrorist activities.

Health Care-D

14 Feb

The United Nation’s World Health Organization is meeting to next week to work out a Pandemic Treaty to prepare for the next pandemic which will put all decision making power in the WHO. This will be a disaster as the WHO made a huge blunder with the Covid pandemic. To trust them with running things during another pandemic would be foolish. We saw the problem first hand in the United States when the U.S. Dept of Health tried to manage our own response to the pandemic. Areas vary widely in their conditions. While big cities were hard hit, small towns and rural areas saw very few cases. The Dept of Health tried to develop a single plan for everyone based on what they saw in the big cities and tried to impose it on everyone. The result was an economic disaster for both the big cities and rural areas, but especially for rural areas that did not have the resources that big cities had. In addition, rural areas did not have the large number of cases that the cities had and could have coped without the burden placed on them by the federal regulations. For the WHO to impose a single plan  on the whole world would be even more disastrous. President Biden has openly stated his support for the treaty and his willingness to sign it. If he does, the United States will be bound by any decision that the WHO makes in the next pandemic, whether we agree with it or not. Every area should be left to decide for itself based on the conditions they face. Globalists in the United Nations have been pushing every  way they can to extend their control over member nations and countries ruled by dictators have increasingly been pushing for climate control regulations to cripple America’s economy, even though we provide most of the income for the United Nations. We need to tell them to back off or we will
