The Public Media has been instrumental in supporting the Democrats in their propaganda war by selectively censoring articles favorable to Republicans and negatively portraying Democrats, and openly criticizing what Republicans do while promoting programs that Democrats support. They were able to do it because most TV stations get their news from the associated Press which filters what they send out. I am surprised how many people believe that the economy was doing good when President Obama and President Biden were in office, but was doing poorly when President Trump was in office. However, I am not surprised that they do. They still get most of their information from the public media in spite of its record of false and misleading stories. Many people no longer get information from the public media as seen by the very low number of viewers of the major networks but many in the social media pick up the stories and spread them. The media was able to give the impression of a good economy under Obama and Biden by reporting new hires  but not reporting that more lost their jobs. They gave the impression that the economy was failing under Trump by reporting those who lost their jobs and not reporting that there were more new hires. In addition, the unemployed figure is misleading because they only report those looking for work. That doesn’t include those who have given up looking for work and are living on welfare or savings, or are working under the table and not reporting  their income. Biden figures were lowered by the fact that many people dropped out of the job market and were no longer looking because they felt there weren’t many jobs out there. They recently reported a sudden increase in unemployment under Trump but did not report that new job hires exceeded the number laid off and the increase was caused by a large number of those who had dropped out of the job search who were reentering the job search because of the increasing number of jobs available. The true indicator is how many are seeking help from public and private agencies that offer assistance and how many applications employers get for job offerings. However those figures are usually not published.
