A-D (6/6/2024) We are entering another Presidential election year. The President not only guides the country, he also appoints federal judges and Supreme Court Justices, as well as the head of federal agencies that carry out the policies of the administration. The judges are appointed for life and they can’t be removed, except for gross misconduct, so it is important that you elect a President who respects the Constitution because he appoints the Judges  you will have to live with until they die or retire. President Obama appointed a large number of judges who had no respect for the rule of law. They openly ignored the Constitution and many federal judges have ignored the Supreme Court rulings when they didn’t agree with them. As a result, we have seen the extension of abortion and Gay privileges and the deterioration of the rule of law. It has resulted in increasing persecution of Christians and other law abiding citizens. President Trump filled many vacancies with judges who would uphold the Constitution and the rule of law, however many judges appointed by President Obama remained and continued to subvert the law. President Biden has filled many federal judge positions with liberal judges and has undone a lot of what President Trump accomplished in restoring judges that respect the law. The person elected President this year will have many more positions to fill and will tip the country more towards respect for the law or away from it. It is also important to elected Senators who will approve the President’s nominations. If the Senate doesn’t confirm them, the positions will remain empty or the President will be forced to appoint judges that the Senate will approve.  It will also be important to elect both Senators and House Representatives who respect the will of the people because they will need to pass the laws needed to restore justice and to investigate wrongdoing by both President Biden and the federal justice system which liberals have been using to harass President Trump and conservative churches and agencies and to protect Hillary Clinton and President Biden from prosecution for their crimes.

I believe God raised up President Trump for this time which God knew was coming. President Trump respected the rule of law and sought to balance the budget. He did not take any salary but donated it to various agencies to help balance the budget. President Obama had no respect for the rule of law and used the mass shootings to push gun control in spite of opposition from the majority of Americans, yet the mass shootings continued. When President Trump was in office, he did a great deal to restore the rights of law abiding citizens to carry guns and you didn’t see the mass shootings like before because potential shooters knew they might face armed citizens who might spoil their plans and President Trump was not constantly calling people to attack those they disagreed with like President Obama and President Biden have. President Obama also used the “so-called” health care crisis to seize power by using Obamacare to require paying for abortion and contraceptives in spite of the fact that the law prohibited it and the majority of Americans opposed it. The House tried to add requiring paying for abortions to the Corona virus emergency act in spite of the fact it had nothing to do with containing the virus. Fortunately, conservative lawmakers were able to remove it.  President Trump also repealed President Obama’s mandate to pay for contraceptives but liberal State courts have still mandated it for their States. He could have done far more but was hindered by liberal politicians, liberal courts, and liberal agency personnel left by President Obama.  People reflect the government. If the government doesn’t respect the law, people lose their respect for the law and it is very difficult to restore that respect. You have only to go out on the highway to see how little respect people have for the law.

Since the American people are opposed to the liberal agenda liberals are working through judges and unelected bureaucrats to subvert the will of the people. They know that Federal judges and unelected officials are hard to get at because voters never have a chance to vote them out since they didn’t vote them in. Most voters do not realize the power of the politicians they elect. While the President and State governors aren’t allowed to enact laws, they appoint the heads of the various government agencies under them. A candidate for governor may not talk about abortion in his campaign but when it comes to appointing officers to agencies like the Board of Health, a pro-abortion governor will usually appoint a Director who is pro-abortion and abortion often quickly rises to a top priority for the Board of Health and the only way to remove him is to defeat the governor in the next election and elect a governor who will appoint someone who is pro-life. While agencies are only supposed to carry out laws passed by Congress, liberal directors are taking it upon themselves to ignore the laws and push their agenda. In addition, liberal Presidents like President Obama and President Biden have taken it upon themselves to issue executive orders to force the government agencies to violate the law. For instance, President Biden ordered the border patrol to not hinder immigrants entering illegally and ordered the Veteran’s Dept to perform abortions in States where it is illegal. Candidates for President are even more important since they appoint the Supreme Court justices who then serve for life. They aren’t appointed by each new President so once they are appointed, they are there until they die or retire. The President also appoints federal judges to fill vacancies so it is important to know where the Presidential candidate stands. President Trump filled many vacancies with conservative judges who respected the law but there were many who remained from before he became President who were hampering his work in restoring rights to the people. The Constitution was written to protect the rights of the people but politicians like President Obama openly ignore and violate the Constitution.

Judges are elected or appointed to interpret the law. Two decisions by judges under President Obama show where liberal judges are working against our best interests. Obamacare was enacted to make insurance available to more people through government subsidized insurance plans. but included so many demands on insurance companies that it forced up the price of insurance pushing it out of range for many people who could have afforded it otherwise. Republicans pushed through laws designed to bring down insurance costs but a judge ruled that the rules  were unconstitutional. One rule allowed small businesses to develop collaboratives to help them get lower insurance rates now only available to big businesses. What in the Constitution forbids people from working together to help each other? Another rule would reduce the requirements required by Obamacare allowing customers to only pay for what they need or want. Repealing that requirement would also mean that those who oppose abortions would no longer have to pay for them. The last would allow insurance companies to sell over State lines increasing competition and forcing prices down. In some States there is only one non-government insurer allowing them to charge whatever they want and in some States there aren’t any, making government insurance the only choice. There is nothing in the Constitution forbidding free enterprise. If anything, the regulations set down by Obamacare were unconstitutional because they restrict competition and freedom of choice.

While liberals promote universal government health care, they ignore the facts. Government health is very expensive to operate because of the bureaucracy it creates to administer it. However it was presented as cheaper than private insurance because it is subsidized by the government with tax money, so the patient only sees part of the cost. In addition, it made health care more expensive as doctors and health care organizations struggled to cover the added cost of tests and paperwork required by the government and were no longer forced to hold down prices to keep care affordable. Private insurance companies had to raise rates to cover the increased cost resulting in more people who couldn’t afford insurance so the government expanded its insurance to cover more people. Private insurance couldn’t compete and so many companies folded or moved to other more profitable programs resulting in more people turning to government insurance. In addition, many doctors quit medicine or turned to medical research or teaching due to their opposition to growing government paperwork and arbitrary rejection of claims. Those remaining faced increased patient loads and cut corners to see more patients, but shear numbers caused increased delays in seeing and treating patients, resulting in poorer quality treatment. In addition, more doctors refused to accept clients with Medicare and Medicaid due to the low reimbursement and high amount of paperwork.  Those who accept them often do not recommend treatment to Medicaid and Medicare patients which they feel will not be covered by the government, resulting in prolonged sickness and premature deaths.  The United States has experienced all this as a result of Obamacare. While it provides health coverage for more people, it provides far inferior care. While death rates are falling in underdeveloped countries, they are rising in the United States and other developing countries, so while people are living longer in underdeveloped countries, the life expectancy in the United States and other developed countries is dropping. While liberal claim they want to make health care available to everyone, the increasing cost of private insurance makes it out of reach for an increasing number of people, including not only the poor but an increasing number in the working class and middle class. Those unable to afford private insurance are forced to accept government covered care which is poor quality since doctors cut corners to maximize profit and they no longer have to worry about the patient finding another doctor since few doctors accept government insurance.

President Biden just cut payments to Medicare Advantage providers for the second time in his administration. Though he continues to claim Republicans are trying to cut Medicare and Social Security benefits, he continues to do so quietly so no one will notice. Medicare Advantage plans are privately run government funded plans which are increasingly popular because they offer a lot more benefits then traditional Medicare. They can do that because they are much more efficient in handling billing than the government and they are able to cut fraud through greater scrutiny. It enables them to offer more services with little or no extra cost. By cutting payments to providers, it will force the providers to cut services offered or require higher copays. That will mean more of the cost will be born by Seniors. President Biden hands out added benefits with great fanfare to get votes and then cuts services quietly so they won’t notice. The purpose of the cuts is to make Advantage plans less attractive and push Seniors back to traditional Medicare to allow the government greater control over the health care industry. President Obama pushed ObamaCare which would have gradually forced private insurance providers out of the market and given the  government complete control over the healthcare market. President Trump gutted the worst abuses of Obamacare but President Biden is seeking to reinstate them.

President Biden continues to show his contempt for the rule of law. He seems to feel he is above the law. He continues to engineer student loan forgiveness in spite of the Supreme Court ruling that he has no authority to do so. He is committing American taxpayers to pay billions of dollars to cover  student loans with no authorization from Congress. He continues to authorize funds for abortions overseas in spite of the fact that our laws expressly forbid any funds for organizations performing abortions overseas.  He also continues to push for Veteran’s hospitals to perform abortions in States that have outlawed abortions, claiming the Veterans hospitals are federal property and not subject to State law and is pushing States to pay for abortions from Medicaid funds, for patients coming from States that have outlawed abortions, in spite of the fact that Medicaid funds are State funds, not federal funds and State laws require that recipients must be residents of the State. He is also pushing hospitals and doctors to perform abortions in  spite of their religious beliefs which forbid it. Our country was founded on the principle laid down by God that no one, including the king (or president) is above the law and that everyone is endowed by God with certain rights which the government cannot violate. President Biden continues to push the belief that since he is president, he can bend or ignore laws he feels will not promote his agenda, or which threaten him or his friends, but can use those laws to threaten and intimidate his opponents. When he was sworn in as President, he promised to uphold the laws of this country and has since openly violated his oath of office and the laws of this country on numerous occasions. Voters will need to decide in November whether they want a country ruled by God’s law which applies equally to everyone or a country where laws can be changed or ignored at the discretion of politicians.

Democrats are telling people that Republicans don’t care about people because they are turning down continuing funds to extended unemployment and Medicaid benefits but the fact is Republicans are turning them down because people have become lazy and don’t want to go back to work because they are making more on unemployment. The funds were supposed to be temporary to help the States get over the bump of unemployment due to Covid. That has long passed  but many people refuse to go back to work and many industries and businesses are desperately seeking workers but very few people want to work. It is forcing wages up to try to attract workers and that is continuing to fuel inflation. Democrats want to continue the programs so they can get those people to vote for them. We need to get people back to work to get the economy going again but we also need to get them to work because we cannot sustain an economy with a large portion of able-bodied people living off the people who are working. It isn’t fair to those who are working to have to support a lot of people who don’t want to work.  Democrats are pushing for a socialist society where the government collects everything and doles out to everyone equally and that has failed wherever it is tried. If people cannot gain anything from working over the minimum, they will work the minimum and if they can get the same from not working as they would from working, they would rather not work.  Even communist countries like China and Russia have had to allow a small amount of private enterprise to keep their country’s economies afloat.

President Biden has authorized more student loan forgiveness. It makes no sense. He has already authorized 600 Billion dollars in loan forgiveness in spite of the fact that the Supreme Court has ruled it unconstitutional because all government expenditures have to be authorized by Congress and Congress has not authorized any of it. That is more than all that the government pays for education in K-12 grades. In addition, it will lead many people to go to college with the idea that the government will pay off their loans and there is no guarantee of that. We already have a lot of kids going to college without a clear goal of what they are going to do and many of them are eventually choosing career paths that do not require a college degree.  College has been billed as a necessity to get a good paying job but while some jobs like doctors and lawyers are high paying, many jobs requiring a college degree are falling behind many jobs that do not require a degree, such as jobs in business and the trades. It is drawing many students into college under the impression that they can get loans for it and push paying it off down the road. If they think they can get away with not having to pay it off at all, it will encourage even more to go when it isn’t needed for what they want to do. That leaves them heavily in debt for something they don’t need, with no clear way to pay it off.

President Biden is at it again. He just forgave the student debts of more young people, in spite of the fact that the Supreme Court ruled that he  did not have the authority to do so. He continues to work hard to drum up votes for his failing administration. Young voters are particularly vulnerable to bribery. Anyone would be a fool to vote against someone who just forgave you of a couple hundred thousand dollars in debt.. President Biden is not really forgiving the debt, he is merely transferring the debt to the American taxpayers. You and I are paying for encouraging young people to vote for President Biden. The administration has been consistently handing out “free” money and other benefits to various groups to get them to vote for him and then claim that Republicans are against them because they oppose such giveaways. In addition, Democrats have been very vocal in claiming that  Republicans are planning on canceling Social Security and welfare benefits to get those people to vote for him. Social programs once designed to help people in need are being used to influence the election and it is being paid for by all of us, even those who do not support him. While they had to pull back on welfare because it was becoming multigenerational as children growing up realized they didn’t have to work but could stay home and collect welfare, other programs continue to discourage working. The free flow of money during the Covid crisis has resulted in millions of people who refuse to work because it would interrupt their benefits. While student debts are becoming a serious problem, simply paying them off is not the solution. My  wife and I paid off our college debts as did millions of other students. My wife and I both had to interrupt our schooling mid-way and pay off the accumulated debt before going back and finishing, but we did it because we felt it was worth it to get better jobs. When I taught college, I found many students who were on welfare scholarships often put in very little effort while expecting  to get credit for the course. We often value things more if we have to work for them than if we just get them for free, but many kids today are growing up with the feeling that the world owes them a living.
