Christ taught the disciples and they in turn taught the churches. In the early church, members lived out the life and those around them saw the love they had for each other and wanted that. Eventually, Christian values took over the Roman Empire, but as the church gained power and became more corrupt, it no longer taught Christian values. By the 5<sup>th<\/sup> Century, the Bible was no longer available to the people because it was in Latin which the people could not read. Liberal teachings began to slowly take over the educated community through the colleges and universities, and was spread to the people through the priests. Europe descended into a period of corruption called the Dark Ages. John Wycliffe translated the Bible into English in the 15<sup>th<\/sup> Century and Martin Luther translated it into German in the 16<sup>th<\/sup> Century enabling the people to read the Scriptures and follow them. Since then the church has fallen into liberal teaching\u00a0 several times and been revived when some clergy and people seek to study the Bible and return to the truth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Christ came to teach us a better way to live.
